GESID’s Seminar, Equips East Java’s Young Entrepreneurs Go Global

Surabaya, October 28, 2024 – Many Indonesian SMEs have the potential and quality to compete on an international level, but often, these young entrepreneurs lack sufficient information on how to market their products abroad. This is one of the reasons why GESID (Generasi Emas Indonesia, Jawa Timur) in collaboration with the East Java Communications and Digital Agency launched and conducted “Desa Export” training.

Erling Elinda Yulianto, Chairman of GESID East Java, stated that “We are committed to supporting the expansion of the SME market in East Java through the Desa Export program that we are initiating.” Erling conveyed that this program is not only about providing opportunities for SMEs to expand into international markets.

On this special occasion, a representative from CV Tropical Ocean Spice, a company engaged in the business of exporting seaweed and spices, had the opportunity to attend the seminar “East Java Goes Global: Mastering the Global Market” which was specifically designed for young entrepreneurs. The event, held at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics building in Surabaya, featured inspiring speakers, namely Mr. Jeremy Albert.G, Head of the Trade Attaché in Moscow, Russia, and Mr. Badai Wirya, Head of the Exim Division, PPLI (Indonesian Logistics Actors Association).

During the seminar, participants gained a deep understanding of the market potential in Russia, especially for Indonesian products. Mr. Jeremy Albert.G provided an overview of Russian consumer preferences, import regulations, and business cooperation opportunities that could be established. Meanwhile, Mr. Badai Wirya provided tips and tricks for effectively and efficiently managing the supply chain to support business expansion overseas.

This seminar has broadened the knowledge of business actors regarding export opportunities, as well as the challenges and solutions that need to be faced in penetrating the global market. Both in terms of regulations, business, logistics, and risks in global export competition.

This event is in line with the company’s vision of “Becoming a trusted partner for consumers while improving the lives of farmers,” so it is hoped that with the new insights gained from attending this seminar, CV Tropical Ocean Spice can become a trusted choice for business partners and farmers alike. CV Tropical Ocean Spice hopes that seminars like this can inspire more young entrepreneurs in East Java to dare to dream big and realize their businesses on a global level.
